Unashamed

It was near the end of the altar call.  I saw him run down the stairs to the field.  He walked, head down, to his spot on the grass.  Something drew me to him and I didn’t take my eyes off of him as he walked to the field.  I prayed for him.  For the things going on in his life. That he would know he was loved.   I had to turn away for a moment and I lost him on the field.  The pastor prayed and the people prayed with him while I looked for the young man. Then I thought I saw his shoes on the ground.  Could it be…?   I kept my eyes on the spot and when the prayer was over the shoes moved and I could see the young man again.

He had been kneeling.

Kneeling on a baseball field in front of crowds of people and right beside many others who stood through the prayer. He was unashamed to kneel and seek God openly.

I was moved.

The Bible says that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.  Do you know Him?   If not, please check out the Bible.  We are all sinners.  But Jesus came to die for us….He came to take our sins.  If we turn from our sins and ask Him to forgive us and follow Him, He will save us.   Pray and ask Jesus to be your Savior now.

Today could be your day to know that you will live forever in heaven!

Romans 3:23  “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 6:23  “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 5:8  “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

1 Timothy 2:5  “For  there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

Romans 10:9  “That if you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

How to Be Saved:

Admit you’re a sinner.  Turn from your sins.  Believe that Jesus died for you on the cross and rose from the dead.  Pray and invite Jesus to come into your life…receive Him as your Lord and Savior.

Pray:  Dear Jesus, I know that I’m a sinner and I ask for you to forgive me.  I believe that You died for my sins and rose from the dead.  I turn away from my sins and ask you to come into my  life.  I want you to be my Lord and Savior.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

Welcome to the family of God!!

Do You Know Him?

It happened again today.  Another message in my inbox announcing the death of a classmate.

Always a shock.

Someone my age, dead.

It would be a lie to say it doesn't make me think about my life--my choices and how I'm living.

And it makes me want to run out and say, "Do you know Jesus?  Have you accepted Him as your Lord and Savior?"

Because really, when you get down to what life is all about, it's about Him.  It's about the fact that God sent His Son to die for our sins so we, when we accept Him as our Savior, can have eternal life.  Christians die on earth, but they are very much alive in heaven.

The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."  John 3:16

God loves us and He made a way for us to get to heaven and live forever.  We need to choose Him, though.  He won't force His way into our lives.

You see, we are separated from God because of our sin.

The Bible says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  Romans 3:23

But because God loves us, He sent Jesus to die for our sins.  "For Christ died for our sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God."  1 Peter 3:18  (to bring me to God, too!)

You  just need to believe in Jesus and accept Him as your Lord and Savior.  "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."  Romans 10:9

I'm not good at running out in the street and asking others if they know Jesus, though I have done that on occasion.  But I am writing about it right now and you're reading it.  Maybe it's your time to believe.  Maybe God had me write these words so you would see them right now at whatever time you're reading this.  Maybe God has this time in mind for you to believe in Him and receive eternal life so you will live forever.

Do you know Him?  Do you know Jesus?  You can know Him today.

If you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, pray this prayer:    Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I ask for your forgiveness.  I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead.  I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life.  I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.  In Your Name I pray.  Amen.

If you prayed that prayer and meant what you prayed, welcome to the family of God!!
